Walk to Work - Part 1

While Blogger decides to not let me upload all my pictures (sure, there's a lot of them), I'll start with the "Walk to Work" series, which is actually just a good excuse to take a tour of downtown Cork:

The outside of my apartment. We live in the red one, which is sort of hidden by the stairwell.

Looking past the next apartment toward downtown. On a good day you can see all the way across the city centre, almost to Blackpool (on the north side of the city).

The main entrance to the apartment complex. From the street it actually looks quite small, but it's just cleverly hidden - there are 22 apartments in the entire complex. They also finally fixed the elevator after someone cleverly put a tree inside and it stopped working.

The Centra (convenience) store at the end of the street, only a 30 second walk from our building. I usually stop here in the morning for breakfast.

Turning around and going back the other way - the stone building to the far right is part of Reeves Hall. The next two buildings south of ours are an auto parts yard and a coal dealers.

Turning left at the first corner onto Sawmill Street.

The end of Sawmill street (it's only about 2 blocks long).

Turning right onto White Street. At the end of the street is the south side of downtown.

At the end of White Street, looking east toward the business part of downtown.

Looking northwest from White Street. This way takes us towards the city centre...
